It doesn't go too deeply into any one aspect however. It involves time travel between two point in time, the present: where you build the towns, and future: where, once certain milestones in the building process are met, will return to as it once was, as it had been erased and must be fixed. There's a little story based on each location and an over arching story for the entire game with a decent amount of interesting characters. While the town building doesn't have any management aspects to it, it does require some thought as certain villagers won't move in unless their requirements are met with room for creativity. ![]() Then using the mats to build buildings/fences/trees/etc that the town needs. The Dungeon crawling aspect is floor by floor procedurally generated levels of thematic dungeons, defeating enemies and collecting materials/money to buy said materials. Despite the name, it's actually not as dark as it would imply although the story does hit on some deeper notes, I don't know how old your kid is, but it doesn't go too far into anything mature. ![]() ![]() I wouldn't say it's mostly like Portia/Sandrock, but similar elements can be found in the Dark Cloud/Dark Chronicle games, more specifically the second one. ![]()
